Extract Prompt From Video

Upload a short reference video and extract an editable prompt for every shot, with real keyframes, timing, camera movement, visible action, and sound notes.

  • One prompt per shot
  • Real frames from your video
  • Facts separated from guesses

Upload and analyze

Choose a model, then upload your video

Get prompts by shot, real start and end frames, and model-ready instructions in one analysis.

1. Choose your target video model

This changes the prompt structure and frame instructions. You can switch formats later without analyzing the video again.

2. Upload your source video

Direct answer

How do you extract a prompt from a video?

Upload the reference clip, let the tool find its cuts, then review one reconstructed prompt for each shot. Every result includes the shot timecode, what is visible, what moves, how the camera behaves, and any sound the analysis can support.

A finished video does not store its original prompt, seed, model settings, or editing timeline. This tool extracts a new, usable description from the evidence in the file. It labels uncertain details so you can correct them before copying the prompt into an AI video generator.

Checkable extraction

What Is Extracted From Your Video

The result stays tied to the source. You can play the original clip, jump to each shot, inspect the captured frames, and edit a wrong detail before using it.

Shot timecodes

Every detected cut gets a start time, end time, and separate prompt, so unrelated scenes are not flattened into one vague paragraph.

Real reference frames

Download the opening, middle, and ending frame captured from each shot. They are source images from your upload, not AI-made substitutes.

Motion and camera notes

Subject movement, object movement, and camera movement are separate fields. This makes it easier to fix a false pan or a missed action.

Editable prompt formats

Use a universal prompt or switch to Veo, Kling, Runway, Seedance, or Sora without uploading and analyzing the same video again.

Four concrete steps

How to Extract and Use the Video Prompt

Start with one short reference and test one shot first. A checked ten-second prompt is more useful than a confident description of a full edited video.

  1. 01

    Choose a short reference clip

Upload an MP4, MOV, or WebM file no longer than 60 seconds and strictly below 20 MiB (20,971,520 bytes). Use the clearest source you have.

  2. 02

    Analyze the video

The tool detects shot boundaries, captures frames in your browser, and returns editable observations about subject, scene, action, camera, text, and sound.

  3. 03

Check the extraction against the source

Play each timecode. Correct names, visible words, movement direction, framing, dialogue, or sound when the result does not match what you can see or hear.

  4. 04

Copy one shot into your generator

Choose the model format, download the listed frame when needed, and test one shot. Adjust the failed field instead of rewriting the whole prompt.

What extraction means here

A Reconstructed Prompt, Not the Hidden Original

Video pixels can show a red cup, a slow push-in, or a line of text. They cannot prove which AI model, seed, negative prompt, reference image, lens setting, or editing decision created the finished clip.

The copyable prompt therefore focuses on details that can help reproduce the visible result. Inferred style or intent stays marked for review instead of being presented as fact.

Exact faces, readable lettering, complex contact between objects, and frame-perfect timing may still drift during generation. Use the extracted frames as constraints and rebuild exact titles in an editor when necessary.

Specific questions

Extract Prompt From Video FAQ

Can I extract the exact original prompt from a video?

No. The rendered file does not contain the original prompt, seed, model settings, or editing history. You receive a new prompt reconstructed from visible and audible evidence.

Is the video prompt extractor free?

Yes. The current public tool is free, needs no account or payment details, and has no ad gate. It allows up to three analyses per visitor each day, subject to site-wide daily capacity.

Which video files can I use?

You can upload MP4, MOV, or WebM files no longer than 60 seconds and strictly below 20 MiB (20,971,520 bytes). An H.264 MP4 is the safest fallback if your browser cannot preview another format.

Does it extract one prompt for the whole video?

It returns one prompt per detected shot because a cut often changes the scene, subject, composition, or action. You can still copy the complete pack when you want the full sequence.

Can I edit the extracted prompt?

Yes. Edit any shot field after analysis. The universal and model-specific prompt formats update from the same corrected evidence.

Does the extraction include audio?

It can return supported notes for dialogue, music, ambience, and sound effects. Treat them as reviewable observations rather than a guaranteed transcript or isolated audio track.
